CMP's NECEC Corridor is a terrible idea. It will destroy pristine wilderness to create a profit-machine for multinational corporations. The people of Maine need to let our public officials know that we do not want this corridor in our state.

Sign below to join our coalition to Stop the Corridor!

We the people of Maine value our natural resources and our way of life. Central Maine Power and their foreign parent company have proposed a massive destructive pathway through our woods in order to bring high-voltage transmission lines to Massachusetts. Central Maine Power has shown itself as untrustworthy and not up to the task of such a large and potentially damaging project, and we hereby call on CMP, the state of Massachusetts, and Maine's regulators and elected officials to put an end to this project immediately.

Keep Maine’s natural landscape beautiful and free from a foreign company carving it up to provide Massachusetts power.

This is just the kind of thing that makes people suspicious about what is good for the planet and what really isn’t, and whether or not our government is giving us the true story. We should be able to trust our leaders to do the right thing, but it seems that people and the planet lose out to corporate interests almost every time. Many people, when told that a few jobs will be created, will sign on to just about anything. When our planet is no longer habitable, jobs won’t matter. Nothing will.

This is the same propaganda that was recently tried to be forced through New Hampshire with the Northern Pass – literally the same supplier company, with no guarantee of this power staying in Maine (previously NH with Northern Pass). Don’t be fooled, the jobs wont be local either (do some research, union personal will come from Canada or mid west, NOT Maine. Permanent damage to your national and state forests, all to supply electricity to MASSACHUSETTS and CONNECTICUT.

I’m all for clean power, but this is a bad deal for Maine, just as it was for New Hampshire. Stand strong Maine – you can beat this, but your LOCAL voice must be heard.

Janet mills cares not for the people of maine, that was proven today when she vetoed LD 1383 & 1363, and denied mainers their voting right to stop the corridor that WE DO NOT WANT.
